Exam sessions

UQ offers professional exam supervision (invigilation) services to external students of domestic and international institutions for written (paper) exams and Bring Your Own Device * (BYOD) exams.

Exam supervision services are offered at the St Lucia campus (for students based in Brisbane) and Gatton campus (for students based west of Brisbane), Monday to Friday only, excluding weekends and public holidays.

Session times

UQ offers two exam sessions a day:

Morning session

  • Exams commence at 9am (local time)

Afternoon session

  • Exams commence at 1.30pm (local time)

Students must contact examinations@uq.edu.au at least seven days prior to their exam for confirmation of venue details.

Costs

A flat fee of $220 (GST inclusive) is charged per student per exam * plus courier costs if required.

The fee covers exam supervision, room hire and associated administrative costs. Fees can be paid either by the institution or the student. Institutions will be invoiced after the exam.

Students required to pay for their exam can do so online prior to the exam date. An online payment link will be emailed to students upon confirmation of the booking. *There will be a $20 courier charge if an Institution requires the exam script returned via courier and  a pre-paid return envelope or courier satchel is not provided.

Requesting an exam at UQ

All exam requests should be received no later than three weeks before the exam.

Institutions must submit the exam request online using login details provided by the UQ Examinations Office. If you require a login, please contact us.

Delivery of exam papers to UQ

All exam papers should come with return postage – i.e. prepaid self-addressed courier satchels or Australia Post self-addressed Express Post envelopes. UQ’s postal address details will be provided upon approval and confirmation of being able to host your exam(s).

Terms and conditions

  • UQ will provide written communication by email.
  • It is the students' responsibility to confirm their attendance at least seven days before the scheduled exam date.
  • Where it is the home institutions responsibility to pay the exam fee, UQ will issue a Tax Invoice to the home institution.
  • The tax invoice must be paid within 30 days of the date of invoice.
  • Where it is the students’ responsibility for payment of the exam and return postage, UQ will provide the student with an online payment link.
  • Payment must be made at least three days before the scheduled exam date.
  • It is the responsibility of the home institution to ensure that all exam papers and relevant materials are sent to UQ to allow timely facilitation of exams. The exam materials must arrive at the delivery address at least five business days before the scheduled date of the exam.
  • Students must report to the exam venue at least 15 minutes before the start of their exam.
  • Scanning services of completed exam papers are limited.
  • Cancellations:
    • Must be in writing to UQ Examinations
    • Notification of a cancellation 48-hours or more before the scheduled exam session(s) will not incur a fee;
    • Notification of a cancellation 48-hours or less before the scheduled exam session(s) will be subject to the full cost of the exam session.
