UQ’s Admissions team coordinates the domestic admissions process for UQ’s suite of undergraduate programs, postgraduate programs requiring application through QTAC and graduate entry to the Doctor of Medicine program.

The team supports applicants through the admissions process by responding to enquiries, providing preliminary assessment of qualifications, performing tasks on QTAC’s online system and liaising with QTAC and faculty staff. Attendance at UQ’s Open Days, O Week, TSXPO and a range of other tertiary events, provide prospective students with the opportunity to receive face-to-face advice from the team. All UQ’s admissions related publications, the Starting at UQ website for new students and annual faculty delegations are also coordinated and updated by Admissions.

UQ’s Enhanced Studies Program (ESP) is managed by the ESP Coordinator within the Admissions team. ESP provides students with an opportunity to extend their knowledge and skills by completing one university subject (tuition fees waived) during Year 12.  There are over 40 courses to choose from, across four main study areas: Business and Economics; Languages of the World; Science, Maths and the Environment; and People and Culture.  ESP helps students prepare for future university study by experiencing classes, completing assessment and enjoying campus life.  Upon successful completion of ESP, students receive one bonus point towards their UQ entrance rank, and may also be eligible for credit.  More information on UQ’s ESP program is available at www.uq.edu.au/esp.
